Everyone Knows Who the Problem Is

EPISODE 3 | OCTOBER 13, 2026 | 16 MINUTES

Everyone knows who the problem is. So why is everyone else doing the adjusting?

The careful wording. The extra work. The things nobody says because they already know how that person will react.

In this episode, Sandy pulls the thread on what happens when one person's behavior becomes everyone else's responsibility—and what keeping the peace may be costing you.

PULL THE THREAD

Everyone knows who the problem is. Nobody wants to deal with them. So everyone else learns to adjust.

We choose our words carefully. We take on the extra work. We avoid saying what needs to be said because we already know how that person will react. And eventually, accommodating their behavior becomes so normal that we barely question it.

But here's the uncomfortable part: when we keep compensating for someone else's behavior, are we actually keeping the peace—or helping maintain the very problem we're frustrated by?

That's the thread worth pulling: why the people who aren't creating the problem so often end up carrying the responsibility for it.

STILL UNTANGLING

The conversation doesn't always end when the episode does. Every other Sunday, I share what I'm still questioning, reconsidering, and trying to make sense of.
